Semarang, August 19, 2021 – In recent days, the Jabodetabek area has shown a decline in positive Covid-19 cases. However, in some areas, many people are still fighting to recover and are in home isolation. Understanding this, PT PLN Batubara Niaga, in collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa, is helping these individuals to recover quickly from this challenge.
Targeting underprivileged communities, PT PLN Batubara Niaga and Dompet Dhuafa distributed 100 food packages to people undergoing home isolation on Thursday (19/8/2021). Jl. Saputan Barat RT 3 RW 13 Kel. Jomblang, Kec. Candisari, Kota Semarang was the first location of distribution before continuing to the area of Pucang Sari Timur 2 Kel. Batursari, Kec. Mranggen, Kabupaten Demak.
In this activity, PT PLN Batubara Niaga explained that caring for the community can be implemented in various segments. Especially during the pandemic over the past nearly two years, which has had a significant impact on the economic downturn of the community.
"This is our way of showing care from PT PLN Batubara Niaga to the community. The pandemic over the past few years has certainly made life difficult for people, and if they have to undergo home isolation, it undoubtedly adds a significant burden to their lives," said Rachmatsyah, Director of PT PLN Batubara Niaga, after the event.
Previously, through the Crisis Center Cegah Tangkal Corona service, Dompet Dhuafa rolled out Food For Dhuafa in an effort to build resilience during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. This distribution included 50 tons of rice, 2,000 canned meat items, 150 nutrition packs for burial workers and health workers, and the distribution of 100 oxygen tanks.
"Thank you to all donors, the mass media, and stakeholders who have contributed to helping handle Covid-19 in Indonesia. This assistance is part of the Food For Dhuafa program and 1,000 Oxygen Tanks Merdeka Untuk Negeri in efforts to handle Covid-19 in Indonesia," said Ustaz Shonhaji, Head of the Dompet Dhuafa Covid-19 Task Force.
"Thank you very much to Dompet Dhuafa and PT PLN Batubara Niaga for caring about the condition of people like me who are in home isolation. Because I can't leave the house, I can't earn a living, and I am worried about daily needs," said Agung, one of the home-isolated patients in Kelurahan Jomblang.
