Health Safety Security Environment (HSSE)

The company is very concerned about maintaining Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection at the workplace, aiming to prevent accidents and environmental impacts that could result in casualties and/or losses. 

Therefore, a policy on Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection is needed to outline the obligations and protection of assets, including employees, the surrounding community, production installations, and the work environment by Management and Employees, established by the Board of Directors' Decision on Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection Policy at PT PLN Batubara.

The Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection Policy is a commitment and guidance from PT PLN Batubara, based on laws and company regulations, to ensure and protect the safety and health of workers through the prevention of workplace accidents, environmental pollution, and occupational diseases by controlling the work environment and implementing hygiene and sanitation to achieve the company's vision and mission.

The intended guidance includes requirements for Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection, which regulate asset protection, management and worker obligations, environmental management and monitoring, emergency preparedness, accident categorization, awarding, and sanctions for violations to always prioritize the aspects of Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection Policy in performing work.

The work programs that the Company must fulfill in implementing Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection include:

  1. Providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to the required tools and adjusting to the conditions of the work environment.
  2. Installing visible/easy-to-read Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection signs at the workplace.
  3. Completing documents for hazard prevention and/or mitigation and environmental impact, in the form of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and/or Work Instructions (WI).
  4. Training employees and partners on preventing accidents and environmental pollution through Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection education by conducting periodic training.
  5. Reporting every workplace accident and environmental impact, as well as negligence resulting in operational (production) loss and environmental pollution, to Management and/or appointed Officials according to applicable laws and regulations.
  6. Providing identification badges and uniforms for all employees, and work clothing for employees working in mining areas, to be worn according to the applicable regulations.
  7. Preventing and controlling the occurrence of occupational diseases (OD) to maintain and improve employee health levels.
  8. Establishing, implementing, evaluating, and continuously developing the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS).
